Premere is developing a new technology to efficiently extract oil from tar sands and oil sands (heavy oil) more efficiently and at lower costs. There are tremendous reserves of heavy oil in the America's but the cost of recovering this oil from the oil sands has hampered development. There is more oil locked in America's oil sands than all of the oil in the Middle East combined. Unlocking an efficient technology to access this trillion barrel resource would allow the United States to keep hundreds of billions of dollars in energy expenditures at home.
